We are lovers of the earth and all of her magic.
It's not by accident that the pristine wilderness of our planet disappears as the understanding of our inner wild nature fades. — Clarissa Pinkola Estés
We believe in beauty, integrity, & reverence.
Catori Life is a woman-owned jewelry brand, handcrafted in the USA from 100% recycled gold, sterling silver and bronze, and responsibly sourced stones. Each piece is made to inspire you to move through the world from a place of your own power, authenticity and truth. We run Catori Life as a philanthropic business, hoping to show that a company can be led with mindfulness. At the center of everything we do is care for people, for resources, and for the wild earth we call home, because we believe sustainable practice is essential to running a business with integrity.
Our goal is that the positive impact we create outweighs any footprint that we may leave. Being truly sustainable is a virtue no one has yet mastered. We will continue to work toward a world where sustainable practice is the norm.
No New Metals
Our bronze, sterling silver and solid gold are 100% recycled, never newly mined.
Gold is where this matters most. Gold mining tears through forests, poisons rivers and hollows out entire landscapes. It is also one of the most exploitative industries in the world, where forced and child labor are still common in the mines that supply it.
There is already more gold above ground than we could ever need, so we don’t buy new. Our gold is solid, never plated, and SCS Global certified as 100% recycled. The same metal and the same purity, without the harm of new mining.
Fair Wages, Slow Fashion
If you’re getting a deal, someone else is probably paying for it.
I’m often asked why our jewelry costs more than what you’ll find at the mall or online. The honest answer is that we refuse to cut the corners that make jewelry cheap.
Mass-produced jewelry is made fast and cheap, often in factories where workers are underpaid, and with newly mined metal that comes at a heavy cost to the earth. We do it differently. Every Catori Life piece is handcrafted in the USA, cast by a small, family-owned casting house we’ve worked with for over 10 years. The people who make our jewelry are paid fairly for their time and their craft. Our metals are 100% recycled, and many of our pieces are made to order, so nothing is mass produced or made to sit in a warehouse.
Slow fashion means caring for everyone who touches a piece, from casting and finishing to the hands that pack your order. It also means making jewelry that lasts long enough to be passed down. That is what you’re paying for, and it’s something we’re deeply proud of.
Every order removes 1 pound of plastic from our waters.
We are proud members of 1% For the Planet, and 4Ocean.
Our partnership with 4ocean is a collaborative ripple. It is our way of giving back to the elements that heal us. Every time you choose a piece of hand-formed jewelry from our studio, you are directly funding the physical extraction of 1 pound of waste from the sea.
Together, we are pulling the weight of modern indifference out of the water and leaving room for the wild to return.
1% for the Planet
For years, Catori Life has been a proud member of 1% for the Planet, a global movement of businesses that give 1% of their annual sales to environmental nonprofits. It’s a promise we made early on and one we keep every year: a portion of every piece you wear goes back to the earth that inspires it.
